The low participation of young voters in Indonesia’s 2014 Presidential Election was a wake-up calling — a reminder that many young people still didn’t see themselves as key players in shaping the nation’s democratic future. To answer that challenge, the youth collective We The Youth! launched a social movement called “100% IN (Seratus Persen Indonesia Nyoblos)”, a creative campaign inviting young Indonesians to be 100% involved in democracy. It wasn’t just about politics — it was about inspiring social responsibility through creative and positive ways.
Throw back to 2019, the movement returned with even greater energy through “100% IN Surabaya Wani Milih” — a vibrant festival combining entertainment and politic’s education. The campaign successfully sparked awareness among millennials regarding the importance of voting responsibly, culminating in a celebration of democracy on March 24, 2019 at Grand City Convention, Surabaya.
From live performances by local bands and community garage meet-ups (custom culture, scooters, and street art), to city riding that built togetherness — every experience was designed to make it easy to understand about democracy in fun and meaningful way.
The “Afternoon Cank’s” talk sessions gave young audiences a chance to connect with inspiring figures, while the Creative Market showcased local art, fashion, and culinary creations that embodied the creative spirit of Indonesia’s youth.
Interactive zones like the Art & Digital Zone (graffiti showcases) and the Sport & Hobbies Zone (motorbike and skateboard communities) strengthened the sense of engagement and belonging. Every touchpoint of the event carried the same message — that change begins with active participation.
Behind this impactful movement was a synergy of creative strategy, digital engagement, and thoughtful event execution. Because we believe, when strong communication meet meaningful experiences, creating awareness that will turn into real action. If you’re ready to create a meaningful event with great impact, let’s make it happen together.
